"Shawn Byrne takes an expansive view on the possibilities of roots music."
-Nashville Scene
Shawn moved to Nashville from Boston in May of 2003 without knowing a soul and began washing dishes at the world famous Bluebird Café. Since that time, Shawn has had his songs recorded by Grammy nominated group The Duhks, Aussie super-star Adam Brand and Kevin Montgomery. Shawn received a SESAC award for his song "Ol' Cook Pot" which was taken to the top 5 on the Americana charts by Sugar Hill Recording artists The Duhks. Shawn's self produced album "But I Digress" released independently in 2007 to rave reviews and has been a steady seller on cdbaby.com and iTunes.
Stellar songwriting is not the only trick in Shawn's bag. As a lead guitarist, Shawn is currently touring with country star Rodney Atkins. While on the road, Shawn is enjoying the big stages such as The Grand Ole Opry, Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Jimmy Fallon show and beyond. Shawn has also performed and/or toured with such artists as Ashton Shepherd, Emily West, Danielle Peck, Steve Earle, Mando Seanz, Amelia White, Anne McCue, Kevin Montgomery, Molly Thomas and many others.
As a producer, Shawn has a catalog of work that crosses genres. From demos to full albums, Shawn's experience speaks for itself boasting work with Nathan Chapman, Lynn Manderson, and Hugh Mitchell to name a few. Through his many years in Nashville, Shawn has made connections with some of the best studio musicians in town, including Rodney Atkins' band, which assures any project to be of superior quality and sound.
Shawn continues to write songs and is currently in pre-production for a new record to be released in the coming year.
